Packaging Material Selector
Compare pouch material structures such as PET PE, PET VMPET PE, PET AL PE, kraft laminated films, and MDOPE PE for flexible packaging projects.
Select a packaging material
Choose a product type to get a starting material structure. Final material should be confirmed with product testing, sealing tests, and shelf-life requirements.
Recommendation
Recommended: PET / VMPET / PE or PET / AL / PE for aroma, oxygen, moisture, and light protection.
Material Selection
How to choose a flexible packaging material
Packaging material selection depends on product type, shelf life, storage environment, barrier requirements, filling method, and brand appearance. There is no single material structure that works for every product. A simple dry snack may only need a basic printed film, while coffee, powder, frozen food, pet treats, cannabis packaging, CBD packaging, hemp packaging, or child-resistant pouch projects may require stronger laminated structures.
PET / PE is often used for basic dry products. PET / VMPET / PE is common when a metallic high-barrier layer is needed. PET / AL / PE provides stronger light, oxygen, aroma, and moisture protection. Kraft paper laminated structures are useful when a natural paper-style look is required. MDOPE / PE may be considered when a mono-material recyclable direction is important.
Before choosing the final material, confirm product weight, filling volume, expected shelf life, sealing requirements, zipper or valve needs, and artwork appearance. Material choice should always be tested with the real product because print appearance, stiffness, pouch standing performance, and sealing behavior can change between structures.
